Mitsubishi Evolution 6.5 Tommi Makinen Edition – in Passion Red with black/red cloth sports (Recaro front seats) interior. Originally imported from Japan and registered in the UK, June 2011 and has been in my possession since then. It has Japanese service history and I have serviced it at performance specialists since importation. It is mostly original except for a mild “speed density” tune taking the maximum BHP to 320/320 torque, switchable back to 280BHP. I upgraded the cooling radiator (Mishimoto) to handle any extra heat from the tune. I still have the original radiator. I also replaced the catalytic convertor to a sports catalytic convertor for better flow. I also have the original catalytic convertor. Rustmaster completely undersealed and treated all the body cavities very soon after taking delivery to protect from rusting.
First registered in March 2001, it will soon be eligible to enter the United States when it is 25 years old which will allow the car to reach its full value potential. The paintwork on the car has been checked for paint depth and was indicating original paint on all but the roof. The bumpers and side skirts have been repainted due to fade. There is a Greddy boost gauge on the dashboard and a DAB radio/ CD player fitted. The Evo is instantly recognisable as a true modern classic which is both aggressively attractive and a thrill to drive and own. I’ve had my fun, now it’s time for another discerning JDM enthusiast.
